Istanbul Impact View per Component

1. Dynamic Orchestration

       Issue on the BPMN infra boot that is creating the problem. The fix is in place and needs to be verified. 

  • SO bmpn infra to be able to run in the war mode and be able to communicate with the other SO pods. (Mardia DB based functions to be intact). - On a separate branch to ensure there is no induced issue
  • Admin cockpit changes on the master branch, the flows for the war upload and then the update recipe tables. - On master branch and is being tested before the merge.

 2. 5G slicing :

HMR:

To check the current open issues for the HMR ( Sanchita Pathak  - to get back checking with the dev)

Istanbul:

option 1 templates are being worked upon. Options 2 templates are being tested, the wiki page is prepared and can be referred.

The decision to option 1 and option 2 will be based on the template designed in the SO dynamically.


3. CNF Orchestration

Helm hooks in the helm charts are being worked upon.

SO will support the config with the aid of CDS for this to be functional

Status API implementation is in progress.

Problem statement:

Timeout issue in SO during the VNF resource instantiation 

This is found in the basic_vm, basic_cnf flows (rarely in the basic_network too) and is random in nature.

Possible cause:

Maria DB has been shared wit other components today. This could have induced issues around the inventory access (critical section / semaphores...)

There could be an issue around the timing of the db entry vs the actual call back.

This issue is not found in the CSIT.

Possible Way outs:

  1. The shared DB scaleout to one pod instead of the Gallera being on the mariaDB cluster 3 pods. To corner to problem. This could be tested on a snapshot version.

  2. Deploy the CSIT on the oom (currently its on the docker), can help us test the actual load of SO (to a greater extent). (Waqas, Irshad).
  3. Minor improvements Like the aaf user onap@so.user printed in the logs taking some CPU cycles. (Seshu / Mukesh / Ramesh / Irshad  to examine this further).

  1. SO timeout issue : OOM has made the changes for the Maria DB and the issue seems to have been partially fixed.  More investigation is going on to have the maria changes incorporated at the oom to reduce the timeout.
