As part of the Casablanca release, Alexis provided outstanding technical contributions to OOM, Controller Design Studio (APPC/CCSDK/SDNC), Policy, Documentation, SO and Integration projects. He participated to several technical task forces (ONAP Release Maintenance Proposal, E2E Process Automation). He also stepped up to drive some ODL vulnerability discussions. He brought very often a fresh perspective to the ONAP TSC, exploring how we could reduce our technical debt, how we could accelerate our ONAP Release cadence.

Helen has demonstrated unparalleled dedication in the formation and prosperity of ONAP, whose exemplar behavior and actions as a champion for an atmosphere of equal cooperation between member companies, individuals and geographies, played a pivotal role in our successful merger of multiple code bases, a timely delivery of the Casablanca release and a thriving global community.

Catherine consistently demonstrates a strong dedication to the ONAP Community, even prior being elected TSC Chair. Her leadership and her close partnership with the ONAP Release Manager, the PTLs and the Integration Team have been instrumental to deliver the 15+ new Casablanca requirements/use cases. Supported by the TSC, she made the right decision at the right time, inspiring teams to keep moving forward. She also worked on security and legal issues reported by the Linux Foundation. Open for feedback, she documented challenges and opportunities for improvement, translating them into action plan. Finally we never exactly know where she is located (US, Europe, elsewhere?) - she was on day and night to support teams across time zones and countries - we could always count on her no matter what ...

Seshu has always been a helping hand and has volunteered to any cause towards the success of ONAP. Besides the role of a PTL, Seshu is a member of the architecture, architecture tiger team and Integration teams and has contributions across ONAP. He is consistently amongst the top code contributors and reviewers of the ONAP across milestones. SO team has code contributions from 14 companies and passed all the Milestones on time under his leadership.

Marco is part of the Integration Team since the ONAP inception. Marco led and performed the testing of the scale out use case in parallel with other Casablanca integration activities. Previously he was providing support to different project teams to stabilize their environment and to perform their pair-wise testing activities. Marco also contributed to several wiki pages, demos and videos; answering onap-discuss e-mails, etc. His willingness to cooperate, to help others and to learn new technologies is a great asset for the ONAP Community

A community is only as strong as the people which make it up. The people and the relationships are the true treasure of an open source community. The A&AI team definitively embraced these open source values. They provided support for several use cases/functional requirements i.e. 5G, CCVPN, VoLTE, OSAM/PNF, Scaling and Cloud Infrastructure for Distributed Edge Clouds and non-functional requirements (integration with AAF, S3P improvemnts). The collaboration between PTLs, subcommittees, companies, use case owners, has been crucial in order to deliver all these Casablanca commitments on time. Jimmy also did a fantastic job as PTL to increase the diversity within his project team - 13 different companies contributed to the A&AI Casablanca release versus 7 (Beijing Release). Jimmy has been recognized for his open mind, excellent partnership, trying to accommodate any technical request, on time delivery and quality.

Integration team contributed tremendously for the successful on time delivery of Casablanca release in the following areas: 1) With the very tight release schedule and holiday season impact, the team worked extremely hard with project teams to integrate test all use cases and functional requirements, and delivered Casablanca successfully on time 2) Kept improving integration process, built an automated CI system for ONAP. The CI system allowed release manager, PTLs and TSC to have daily automated progress report of ONAP wellness 3) Advocated importance of security in the community and was part of leadership in security vulnerability improvement through oparent project 4) Automated ONAP installation and deployment in Open Lab env. This work made it possible to quickly test out ONAP infrastructure and components 5) Automated major part of S3P tests, which tremendously helped deliver Casablanca with quality 6) Made great progress on use cases automation, particularly vFW, vLB and vCPE use cases which become the fundamental of ONAP regression test 7) Supported design and development of use cases delivered for Casablanca 8) Helped maintain Open Labs in order so that ONAP project teams can develop and test on them 9) Helped ONAP project teams and LF to solve various build and infrastructure issues 10) Helped community around the globe on ONAP deployment issues11) Docker/OCI Images - Best Practices and Tools captured, automated and shared experience across projects for Dockerfile, which helps reduce duplication, Jumstart image development, optimized resource consumption, and built vendor-agnostic images. 12) At Casablanca release, Integration team has created complete and detailed “ALL” verified use cases and requirement steps and guideline to help the industry adaption for ONAP.

SO project in casablanca not only supported all the use cases but also passed all the milestones on time. SO project had most diversified contributions coming from 14 different companies and shows the real team spirit of an open source project in real terms. SO project has always been accommodative to the ONAP demands and is in all spirit to make ONAP commercial success.

This component automates policy distribution for all policy types from SDC. The component is the first component developed from scratch in ONAP in the Policy Framework. The manner in which Intel, AT&T, and Ericsson collaborated to deliver this high quality component on time in Casablanca is an example of what can be achieved in Open Source.

Yuriy Malakov and Alexis de Talhouet have been driving the architecture/development and testing of the Controller Design Studio (CDS), jointly with the APPC/CCSDK/SNDC project Teams (Taka Cho and Dan Timoney), supported by Huawei, TechM, IBM, Ericsson, Bell Canada and AT&T. In a nutshell, the value of CDS in Casablanca is to get rid of preload; instead use a model-driven design time approach to define what resources are required for instantiation, and how to resolve them. They took the vFW use case as a driver The system is designed to be self service, which means that users, not just programmers, can reconfigure the software system as needed to meet customer requirements. To accomplish this goal, the system is built around models that provide for real-time changes in how the system operates. Users merely need to change a model to change how a service operates. Self service is a completely new way of delivering services. It removes the dependence on code releases and the delays they cause and puts the control of services into the hands of the service providers. They can change a model and its parameters and create a new service without writing a single line of code. This makes SERVICE PROVIDER(S) more responsive to its customers and able to deliver products that more closely match the needs of its customers. May Chen helped LFN MAC formed the China work group and led and coordinated the group and member companies in China to drive LFN, especially ONAP’s awareness and community development in China. May has made tremendous contribution to Casablanca’s release marketing and promotion in China. May Chen introduced and assisted SDNLAB to join LFN, and helped to make it become LFN’s China PR platform, established timely translation and publication process for LFN PR and ONAP PR, including Casablanca releases promotion in China. May Chen coordinated with members in china, published first Chinese version ONAP architecture document in Casablanca release, launched LFN Tencent video channel with many ONAP video contents. May Chen actively worked with LFN and China members, successfully introduced OSN Days into China, promoted LFN, its projects, especially ONAP in China. May Chen has initiated and coordinated LFN workshop, ONAP tutorial at Global Network Technology Conference(GNTC) in China, further helped to drive ONAP awareness and Casablanca release promotion in China. May Chen has successfully planned ONAP CCVPN PoC integrated marketing plan in ONS Europe, through keynote panel, technical panel, LFN booth showcase, member press release, LFN executive blog, press release in China etc, ensured CCVPN’s launch received maximum attention and success in the industry.
