Unable to see SDC models in VID application

Hi,

When I tried to open VID application and clicked on "browse SDC models" I got a page where it says "could not extract resultset". I have seen logs of vid-server and db containers but couldn't found any errors.

I have distributed a network service(as per the demo). But I  didn't  ran demo.sh in robot VM yet.

What I debug:

1)I tried to stop manually vid-mariadb, then I can see "Could not open Hibernate session for transaction. nested exception is org.hibernate.exception.Generic.JDBCException. Could not open connection" . After starting the mariadb container I can see the same error "could not extract Resultset".

2)Tried to ping SDC, MSO from vid-server, ping works.

3)After restarting the containers, i can see the VID  page but when we click on "browse SDC models" it again gives same error and from then if we click on any link in VID app it throws same error.


Any directions to solve this issue?

    what version of the duckers did you use?

    are the sdc dockers up?

    Michael Lando, but I can  add new licese models, import VSP and distribute network services too. But in VID app, I can't see the distributed network services. So I am not sure is that the problem with SDC.

    Hi Bharath, may you want to run the vid_vm_init.sh after changing the db name to vid_openecomp from vid_openecomp_epsdk and re-run this script. But its landing in another issue though.

    @Kanagaraj I used docker 1.0-STAGING-latest vid-server image but now I updated image to 1.1-STAGING-latest , now it shows 404 page

    In the VID application logs are you seeing 404 when trying to fetch the service models from SDC?

    Yes if I use 1.1-STAGING-latest image. The GET request to /vid/vidhome.htm?cc giving 404 page.

    I am trying to debug from my side too. This is my observation till now in code level, let me know if this is the right direction.

    Whenever we try to launch VID app as a demo user it invokes angular js controllers here in https://gerrit.onap.org/r/gitweb?p=vid.git;a=tree;f=vid/src/main/webapp/app/vid/scripts/controller;h=3dc89320abd23b4f6af4af67163a6b43411ab8e1;hb=13f34de44aa7914cd1ef3eb1c9e789b19fe25dda. And I think for displaying the SDC models it will invoke https://gerrit.onap.org/r/gitweb?p=vid.git;a=blob;f=vid/src/main/webapp/app/vid/scripts/controller/ServiceModelController.js;h=855c23dde21c0a41b8dbb50a26052881f23acae7;hb=13f34de44aa7914cd1ef3eb1c9e789b19fe25dda which eventually calls "return getAsdcClient().getServices(request.getParameterMap());" in https://gerrit.onap.org/r/gitweb?p=vid.git;a=blob;f=vid/src/main/java/org/openecomp/vid/controller/VidController.java;hb=13f34de44aa7914cd1ef3eb1c9e789b19fe25dda#l140. If  there is an  issue in contacting asdc, we must get the exception like "Failed to retrieve service definitions from SDC" or the other error, but I couldn't see these errors in VID logs. And I could see much difference in 1.0.0-SNAPSHOT and master. 

    So do you think it is not even contacting asdc? 

    One more question, are we any chance retrieving these details https://gerrit.onap.org/r/gitweb?p=vid.git;a=blob;f=vid/src/main/resources/vid-data.sql;h=986c058e4c0b75afd26caf74b6663d87973da7d9;hb=13f34de44aa7914cd1ef3eb1c9e789b19fe25dda#l154 while displaying service models?

    Add entry for sdc in /etc/hosts with c2.vm1.sdc.simpledemo.openecomp.org and vid started to report the services distributed.

    I tried both the solution provided by Bharath and Kanagaraj. Still facing the issue in Vid .
