Agenda

  •  Service mesh:
  • PTL election:
      • No further updates.
  • Helm 3.6 Bug
    • Fiachra Corcoran resolved
      • Changed helm verify job to use 3.6 only
      • Modified verify job to eliminate unnecessary verifications
        • Eliminated verify on a rebase.  But maybe we should keep it.
        • Can manually trigger the verify.
  • Helm merge job is now passing
    • Push to Nexus is working for helm-testing repo
    • Working on push for helm-release
    • Skipping linting on helm release
    • Need a document update to indicate that charts are being pushed into Nexus
      • Possibly a user can deploy without building locally?  Need testing.
    • How do we handle versioning, especially for release?
  • Helm linting:  Fiachra Corcoran has resurrected the helm thread on performance of linting (https://github.com/helm/helm/issues/7656#issuecomment-620890762)
    • It takes 11 hours now! (It was only 2 hours in 2020)
  • Jakarta RC – scheduled for tomorrow, but may be delayed by a week
    • When do we branch?  As late as possible!
  • Open CRs
    • Since last week, gating is much more reliable
      • mariadb version rollback fixed the main gating issue
      • Commiters can merge if gate is 100% and a previous verify passed
      • Continue to use slack to get additional reviews if the change is not obviously mergeable
    • 127805: [AAI] Add Security Context to AAI Pods | https://gerrit.onap.org/r/c/oom/+/127805
      • AAI pods failing – not clear why
  • Fiachra Corcoran will look at changing release notes for software versions:
    • kubernetes 1.22.4
    • helm 3.6.3
    • Docker 20.10.9
    • cert-manager 1.5.4 (same as Istanbul)
  • Istio Setup Update Andreas Geissler
    • Working on DMaaP/Strimzi to find correct settings
    • Fiachra Corcoran is proposing that components move to Kafka native
      • Kafka native clients would not use service mesh for Kafka, but other traffic would go through the sidecar, using the mesh
  • No labels
