  • Could be used for Integration, Testing, Validation.
  • Ability to poll for changes
  • "Golden Configuration" can be used to sync, out-of-sync configuration updates. Backdoors in operations, and this would be a way to audit.
  • "Golden Configuration" can be used as a "reference"
  • Why Poll? - a "Push" Mechanism, described in attachments (see below), can also "Poll" as in the case of an audit. Does every change gets published. Could set policies & thresholds on a per change basis. or a Threshold (changes more than x times per hour).
  • "real data" to validate against "valid data"
  • Trigger audits, do you need to poll on a regular basis? A: You don't want to poll on a regular basis, how often should polling be done? This circumvents that because you send important changes when they happen. described in attachments (see below). Interrogation process Pushing/Polling.
  • 3 Innovations (1) Vendor-neutral config MS (2) U/C (3) Golden Inventory may or may not be A&AI.
  • ONAP A&AI has: topology, configuration, state information info, service level attributes.
  • Explore "State" in a followup
  • Configuration Information Stored, what components use it. APP-C "Configuration" database.
  • Relation to A&AI. Create an accurate record, in a logically central manner which can be used by orchestration & controllers. A&AI would be the source; an orchestrator has this info as well. And A&AI would need to true up with that, esp w/ geographically distributed orchestrators. an actionable single source of truth. [] extension A&AI. A&AI is recipient, this U/C creates a conduit. A&AI houses the information; Centralize repository configuration as a reference.
  • New Use Case R4/R5? A 5G or a General Use Case

  1. I think this an important scenario that is used by many customers who run any services over PNFs/VNFs. configuration data can get corrupted for many reasons which forces one to have to restore to a specific version. Fred's notes on justification are great.

I also think the idea to have a common configuration nomenclature or model which is in ONAP and then each vendor takes it and converts it to their specific version is the right model. Whether the adapter is in ONAP supported by the vendor or in the vendor equipment

may be scenario specific. But either way - the vendor does the conversion.
