Program Overview

5G Program Overview

The objective of the 5G program is to create new services & generate revenue for 5G / 5G Automation through demonstration of below use-cases:

  • SD-WAN over 5G
  • IoT over 5G

Requirement Specification

Requirements

  • Customer Portal
    • Order portal with a shopping cart ordering process for services

    • The user selects a service from a catalogue, then
    • Either order an end-to-end service from ONAP network or a network slice from 5GICE
    • Will implement the TM Forum API's for:
      • Service Ordering
      • Service Inventory
      • Service Catalogue
  • Service Design
    • Design, Create and Deliver an end-to-end service.
    • TOSCA-based templates that enable rapid programming into the network services.
    • Creating and deploying services from end to end in this environment by integrating with SDN controllers, domain-specific element managers or orchestration.
    • Modular/programmable/template structure supports control of multiple diverse domains: clouds, 5G core, SDWAN, NFV, and more.
  • Service Orchestration
    • Expose the catalogue(service specifications), inventory (service), network slice parameters (NSD) to the northbound system.
    • Configure the relevant network slice parameters, bandwidth, throughput, latency, jitter, etc.,

    • Route the packets via 5G core to hub and back to the customer site.

    • 5GIC Creates a network in OpenStack linked to the 5G Slice (Any VMs on the network has slice network connectivity)

  • Service Activation
    • Instantiate the customer sites (Hub and Spoke)

      • Virtual CPE (vSRX)

        • Push configuration to vSRX

        • Connect the devices to the hub

        • Start IPSec tunnels forming SD-WAN Service

        • Apply firewall policies
