Attendees:

Lorraine Welch  ,@Adolfo, Deven Panchal

Agenda:

 Today's

  • @Adolfo - Discuss with CIA team about migrating the base images to ONAP Normative Container Base Images.

This migration is expected to reduce the image footprint and to enable multi-cpu architecture support for Dublin.

This process will be supported by the CIA team as much as we want them to help; I told them we don't have resources so that will be necessary.

This would entail a 3 steps process that affects the creation of our 5 containers created by the Portal project

    • Using Alpine instead of Ubuntu
    • Using a different package manager
    • Adjusting the libraries used based on Alpine instead of Ubuntu

           Concerns:

    • External dependencies - will all be accessible?
    • The process will use multi cpus; will the use of multi cpus have any negative affect?
    • CIA has testing resources but will need our help

This effort will reduce the footprint (size and time) and the resources consumed and has been approved by the TSC.
