Agenda

  1. Test status
  2. Istanbul requirements and commitments
  3. Demo

Notes and Actions

  1. With reference to last week's discussion on Core Slicing and ETSI Network Service, the foll. actions were agreed (action owners are highlighted in Bold):
    1. Use of SOL005 API to create/update Core NS for Core NSSI (by Core NSSMF)
      1. Milind Jalwadi to prepare an initial sequence diagram to depict how it can be realized. The intention is to retain the existing implementation (which invokes ExtAPI for Macro flow) as well - a configurable 'branch' to be implemented to support both existing implementation as well as the new ETSI SOL005 interface.
      2. Swaminathan Seetharamanto provide the wiki page link for creating the above flow.
      3. Subsequently, Swaminathan Seetharaman / Milind Jalwadi will inform Fernando Oliveira and seek interested contributors for implementation of this functionality. Milind Jalwadi's team can provide some guidance and pointers to the implementation, however, the actual implementation and testing requires additional contributors.
    2. Use of Allotted Resources to enable sharing of some Core NFs while instantiating others newly
      1. In the current implementation, the Core NS can either be reused as a whole or instantiated newly as a whole. It isn't possible to reuse some constituents (e.g., AMF) while instantiating others newly (e.g., UPF) for a Core NSSI.
      2. To address this limitation, Milind JalwadiSanchita Pathak have proposed the use of Allotted Resources approach. This shall be a generic implementation and not just limited to use in the Network Slicing context.
      3. Sanchita Pathak to create the necessary wiki/ppt documentation for this new requirement, inform the Requirements Sub-committee, and take necessary actions before M0 for Istanbul (April 1).
      4. Sanchita PathakMilind Jalwadi to then discuss with SO PTL after approval from Requirements Sub-committee.'
  2. For Istanbul release, interested contributors are being sought from the use case team as well as the community. There are still a number of aspects to be implemented for the E2E Network Slicing use case, however, we are short of contributors for Istanbul release.
    1. Hanif Kukkalliexpressed interest to contribute, particularly to SO component.
    2. Deepika S  and Hanif Kukkalli to connect for the integration testing/demo and any updates in SO.
  3. A quick update was shared on the Integration Test status for Honolulu. Based on the progress, some of the tests may be deferred to Istanbul release.
