  1. I think the 'Device' resource model in table 3.5 is used for both of PNF and VNF in use case. How a single resource model can be used for both of PNF and VNF type device. In that case, you guys used VNF, VNFC, VL types or PNF resource type for modeling in SDC?

In run-time, two types of resource instantiation (PNF and VNF) will go through the same workflow in SO (BPMN model) or different models?

    1. Hi Min,

We will use VF in SDC to describe the device, i think VF is not VNF , it is Virtual Function more then VNF. The resource is just for the business scenario, in this scenario , the VNF(vCPE) and PNF(CPE)  have the same feather. For vCPE , we need to launch the VNF automatically by ONAP.

In CCVPN scenario, when we try to deploy a new site, the CPE/vCPE device type and version is determine by the user, user can select the device type and version.

And if it is CPE,  the service provider should deliver the right device to the customer. if it is vCPE, ONAP should launch the vCPE with the right device type and version. You are right, we have a BPMN for device resource, in this BPMN, we will check if it is VNF, if so , we will deploy the VNF, after that , the logic for VNF/PNF are same.

    2. Thank you for your response!
